Fun, cool and affordable entertainment takes over the intimate venue

The Lounge inside Palms Casino Resort continues to offer guests affordable and intimate entertainment, including various performances from all genres of entertainment. Performances are open to the public, but guests must be 21 years of age and older. Some ticketed events listed may have additional fees. The Lounge is on Twitter @loungeatpalms.

 

SPECIAL GUEST PERFORMANCES

Date: Thursday, July 12
Artist: Alex Christopher
Time: 3 p.m. & 7 p.m.
Cost: $10 & $12, respectively
Description: Alex Christopher was born in Las Vegas and is one of the most talented and promising young artists to burst onto the local entertainment scene. Noted for his powerful voice, he has performed throughout Las Vegas and now brings his vocal jazz and traditional pop style to The Lounge for two special performances. Guests can expect to hear standards including Stardust, My Way, I’ll Be Seeing You and more.

Christopher began singing at an early age of 14 and one short year later declared that his love of singing would become his chosen career path. He opened the yellow pages and called many elderly homes and simply told them “I’m going to give you a free show” – thus starting his career. Christopher sings a large variety of music, but his primary focus is jazz – belting out not only the standards, but a mix of original songs as well.

Description: Based in Las Vegas, Red Eye Radio is unlike other “cover bands” in the city, diving into alternative, college-radio-esque set lists. The group includes The Novelty Act’s Bryan Todd and The Big Friendly Corporation’s drummer Michael McDonald.

Description: Trumpeter, conductor, producer and award-winning composer David Perrico has become one of the city’s highly demanded musicians. He has performed internationally and in virtually every Las Vegas hotel venue, including performing in headliner shows such as Donny & Marie, Natalie Cole, Toni Braxton, Cirque du Soleil, Gladys Knight and others. The talented musician also served as Music Director for Zowie Bowie’s Vintage Vegas Show. He has 11 CD and four DVD recordings to his credit, including the Grammy award-winning album One Voice by Gladys Knight.

Description: Described as combining beauty, brains, bustiers and classic rock music, The Lalas Burlesque Show flirts into Vegas for two special performances. The brainchild of the hottest burlesque dance group in Los Angles is celebrity choreographer Erin Lamont. With credits ranging from Lady Gaga to People’s Choice Awards, each “Lala” is handpicked and is the best of the best in the industry. The 75-minute show promises shenanigans, comedy and a whole lot of burlesque.

Artist: Latin Nights featuring Claudine Castro Band

Description: Hot Latin sounds by Las Vegas’ own Claudine Castro. Hit the dance floor and feel the sensation of high-energy, live Latin music.

Born in Mexico City, award-winning Claudine Castro started her singing career at the tender age of six. She began singing with her famous father Arturo Castro of the Brothers Castro. Growing up with such a strong musical background paved the way for Claudine who knew what it took to be a performer.

While honing her talent throughout the years, Castro has run the spectrum of performing from singing for television commercials on the #1 television station in Mexico City, Televisa to performing on the #1 rated television show in Latin America “Llevatelo.” During this time, she began to launch her solo career, touring the most famous nightclubs in Mexico City. Castro also spent some time on the road with acts including Rocio Banquells, Benito Castro, Alvaro Torres and Yoshio.

Moving to Las Vegas in 1997, Castro began performing at all of the top hotels in town, taking the Vegas Valley by storm. Castro performed two tours in 2000 and 2001 respectively for the Armed Forces, including stops in Italy, Azores, Greece, Turkey and Spain. In 2010, she performed at the “Paseo de Las Estrellas” when Las Vegas bestowed the honor on Gloria and Emilio Estefan on the Las Vegas Walk of Fame

Description: Santa Fe and the Fat City Horns, one of Las Vegas’ crown jewels, perform their seamless blend of funk, Latin, rock and jazz. This super-band is made of the most talented musicians currently performing in Las Vegas.

Artist: Sherry St. Germain & The Lost Vanguards

Description: Sherry St. Germain is part of the new generation of multi-talented artists bringing fire to the stage as a performer, writer and producer. St. Germain’s raw, real and uncanny musicality has placed her on stages across the globe with her mix of talent, including being a master of piano, a powerful vocalist and a unique approach to banjo playing. As one of the original singers in Viva ELVIS, St. Germain has performed around Las Vegas with guest stints at the Palms, Mandarin Oriental, The Palazzo, Wynn and Aria to name a few. This high-energy variety show will feature guest appearances by local Las Vegas talent including Gordie Brown, Frankie Moreno and others.
