New to the resort’s dynamic and cutting edge mixology program is The Neapolitan of Las Vegas, an indoor/outdoor lounge serving playful, booze-driven concoctions, from infused ice cream sundaes to CO₂ sorbets, created by The Cosmopolitan’s resident mixologist, Mariena Mercer. Constructed as a refreshing air-conditioned respite along the south edge of the sunny Boulevard pool deck, The Neapolitan allows guests to escape the heat with cool spiked treats and innovative beverages. The lounge will be open throughout the summer offering sun bathers and ice cream fanatics sweeping views of the Vegas skyline and an outdoor playground from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Mixologists clad in bikinis and lab coats deliver boozy shakes like the bar’s signature Neapolitan Spiked Milkshake made with strawberry and chocolate ice cream with a biscotti liqueur-infused whipped cream. Hand-blended liquid nitrogen-charged sorbets like The Pink Lady made with Belvedere Pink Grapefruit, housemade grenadine and pink grapefruit juice, topped with cherry Pop Rocks and a maraschino cherry are also available, as well as boozy floats, blended frozen drinks, smoothies, adult push-pops and various flavors of SnoBar liquor ice creams and popsicles. A bicycle cart equipped with all the makings to deliver a boozy shake pedals its way around the pool, offering relaxed bathers a refreshing treat to cool down from the heat.
Reflecting the colors of Neapolitan ice cream, the bar’s vibrant décor, made by Portugal’s myface, features custom-made modular and modern plush foam couches splashed with strawberry pink, chocolate brown and vanilla. Former artist-in-residence Jerry Misko was once again tapped by The Cosmopolitan to paint a 9’ x 24’ mural called “Do it Ride Good” inspired by the colors of the sorbet. Reflective of the palate of cocktails available, vibrant pinks and electric blues capture the essence of the watermelon margaritas, strawberry shakes and cherry toppings.
