Artist Info: Chris Isaak broke onto the music scene with his debut album, Silverstone, which included the tracks “Gone Ridin’” and “Livin’ for Your Lover,” both of which were included in the movie “Blue Velvet.” Isaak’s success continued with the release of the 1989 album, Heart Shaped World, which received triple platinum certification. The album’s most popular single, “Wicked Game,” was featured in the film, “Wild at Heart” and received gold certification. Isaak broke into the 1990s with the release of the single “Baby Did a Bad, Bad Thing.” The single was later featured in Stanley Kubrick’s final film, “Eyes Wide Shut,” starring Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. His most recent album, Beyond the Sun, was released in 2011. In addition to music, Isaak has starred in several movies and television series, including “The Informers,” “That Thing You Do!” and “The Chris Isaak Show,” among others.

An award-winning songwriter, Greg Barnhill has been writing and performing his whole life. Barnhill has written songs for artists ranging from Tim McGraw to Jessica Simpson. Barnhill’s song, “Walkaway Joe,” recorded by Trisha Yearwood and Don Henley, earned him a Grammy nomination and established him as one of the industry’s top writers. His success continued with the single, “House of Love,” which was recorded by Amy Grant and Vince Gill and climbed to number 37 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Other hit songs include, “99.9% Sure I’ve Never Been Here Before,” “Same Ol’ Love,” which reached number 12 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles and Tracks chart, and “She’s Taken A Shine,” which peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot Country Singles and Tracks chart. Barnhill has also established himself as one of television’s top theme song and jingle writers, with Emmy nominations for his work on ‘The Today Show” and NASCAR.

Throughout his successful career, Dodson has written for a long list of artists, including Carrie Underwood, George Strait, Julianne Hough, Darryl Worley and Kenny Chesney, who’s single “Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven,” reached number one on the Billboard Country Songs chart and 41 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Though they initially made a name for themselves, and became a self-sufficient touring unit, on the jam-band circuit, the group’s sound is deeply rooted in the golden age of rock n’ roll.

 

The band’s current album, the eponymously-titled Grace Potter & the Nocturnals (2010), debuted at number 19 on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart and peaked at number five on the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart. In 2011, Potter took home the “Music Video of the Year” award at the 45th annual Country Music Association Awards, for her duet with Kenny Chesney, “You and Tequila,” which reached number one on the Billboard country charts.

An award-winning songwriter, Clay Mills’ credits include the number one hits, “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It” by Darius Rucker and Diamond Rio’s “Beautiful Mess,” which received a Grammy nomination. Mills has also written for artists including Andy Griggs, Little Big Town, Kimberly Locke and Trisha Yearwood, who’s single, “Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love,” received a Grammy nomination.

Artist Info: Livingston Taylor picked up his first guitar at the age of 13, beginning a 40-year career that has encompassed performance, songwriting and teaching. Livingston recorded his first record at 18 and has continued to create well-crafted, introspective and original songs that have earned him listeners worldwide. Taylor broke onto the music scene with his eponymously titled debut album, which peaked at number 82 on the Billboard charts. Taylor’s album, Three Way Mirror, featured the singles “Going Round One More Time,” “I’ll Come Running” and “I Will be In Love With You,” which peaked at number 30 on the Billboard Pop Singles chart. In 2010, Taylor released the album Last Alaska Moon to critical acclaim. In addition to music, Taylor is a full-time professor at Berklee College of Music, teaching courses on stage performance.

Artist Info: One of the most popular and controversial rock bands of all time, The Doors signed a record contract in 1966 and released a string of multi-platinum albums, beginning with their eponymous debut album in 1967, which peaked at number two on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart and produced the band’s most popular song, “Light My Fire.” The band followed with the album Strange Days and broke into the mainstream with Waiting for the Sun, featuring the single, “Hello, I Love You.” Following the death of lead singer Jim Morrison in 1971, the band continued as a trio and released two more albums, Other Voices and Full Circle, with Manzarek and Krieger, the band’s original guitarist and keyboardist, sharing lead vocals. They eventually disbanded, but Manzarek and Krieger continue to tour, performing Doors songs exclusively. The Doors have received 19 gold, 14 platinum and five multi-platinum album awards and sold more than 100 million albums worldwide. Three of the band’s studio albums, The Doors, Strange Days and L.A. Coco Montoya began his career as a drummer in the mid 1970s and soon moved on to play guitar for the newly reformed band, Bluesbreakers, which he remained a member of for 10 years. Montoya has released several solo albums, including his debut Gotta Mind To Travel and most recent album, I Want It All Back. Montoya has also been featured on albums with the Cate Brothers and Bo Diddley.

Artist Info: Boulder Blues features local blues bands opening for some of the country’s best blues musicians. Chris Duarte was first inspired by music and began playing guitar at the age of eight. Following the release of his debut album, Texas Sugar/Strat Magik, Duarte was named “Best New Talent” by “Guitar Player’s” reader’s poll. Duarte finished fourth in the magazine’s “Best Blues Guitarist” category, behind Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy and B.B. King. Duarte has released 11 studio albums, including 2011’s Blues In The Afterburner.

Artist Info: Boulder Blues features local blues bands opening for some of the country’s best blues musicians. Originally learned to play the bass guitar, Nick Moss joined Buddy Scott’s band in his late teens. In 1993, Moss played bass for The Legendary Blues Band’s final album and soon after switched to lead guitar. Moss released his first solo album, First Offence in 2003. The album, which was billed under Moss and the Flip Tops, included a guest appearance from Lynwood Slim. Moss and the Flip Tops have gone on to release nine albums, including Here I Am, which was released in late 2011.

Artist Info: Boulder Blues features local blues bands opening for some of the country’s best blues musicians. Walter Trout began his career in the late 1960s, performing alongside several artists, including Percy Mayfield, John Lee Hooker and Joe Tex. After becoming the lead guitarist for Canned Heat, Trout formed the Walter Trout Band, which developed a large following in Europe. Trout released his self-titled debut album in 1998 and continued to tour worldwide. In 2006, Trout released the album Full Circle, which featured appearances by several musicians, including John Mayall, Coco Montoya and Joe Bonamassa, among others. Trout is set to release a new album, Blues For the Modern Daze, in April 2012.

Artist Info: Boulder Blues features local blues bands opening for some of the country’s best blues musicians. Formed by Charles Baty and Rick Estrin and originally known as Little Charlie & The Nightcats, the band features an eclectic mix of electric urban blues, rock, soul, surf, swing and western swing, among other genres. The band’s debut album, All the Way Crazy, was released in 1987 and featured the songs, “Poor Tarzan,” “Suicide Blues” and “When Girls Do It.” The band has continued to release albums, including Disturbing the Peace and Night Vision, establishing themselves as one of the top acts on the blues festival and club circuits worldwide. Following the retirement of Baty, the band was re-named Rick Estrin & The Nightcats and released Twisted in 2009.

Artist Info: Presented by Bonkerz Comedy Productions, Louie LOL at the Louie Anderson Theater is a family-friendly show where guests can catch the esteemed headliner in his intimate showroom. A two-time Emmy award winner, Anderson recently celebrated his first anniversary at Palace Station in Las Vegas and continues to be one of the country’s most recognized and adored comics. The comic’s material relates stories about growing up in the Midwest, being one of 11 children and dealing with an alcoholic father. Anderson constantly introduces new material to keep the comedy timely.

 

Anderson was named by Comedy Central as “One of 100 Greatest Stand-Up Comedians of All Time.” His TV and film work includes, starring in his own CBS sitcom “The Louie Show” and his own comedy specials for both HBO and Showtime, as well as several films, including “Coming to America” opposite Eddie Murphy. Artist Info: Legendary comedian Marty Allen got his start in the comedy world performing at nightclubs while going to college during the day. It became so lucrative for him, that he eventually quit college to pursue comedy fulltime. It was shortly thereafter that he became part of the popular ’50s comedy duo Allen and Rossi with fellow comedian Steve Rossi. Together, the two toured the country, released several hit comedy albums, performed more than 40 times on the “Ed Sullivan Show” and starred in the comedic film “The Last of the Secret Agents.”

Artist Info: Comedian and writer, Ed Driscoll, headlines while Louie Anderson is on the road. Driscoll began his comedy career as a performer at clubs and on television in his hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. He quickly gained national notoriety as a touring comic, opening for such performers as Jay Leno, Steven Wright and Robert Klein. Driscoll’s work on HBO’s “Dennis Miller Live” was recognized with an Emmy Award, a Cable Ace Award and a Writers Guild of America Award. Driscoll is currently a writer and producer for ABC’s “Joey and Melissa.”
