Rock/jam band Umphrey’s McGee will take the stage at Veil Pavilion to give the big city a little treat from the Midwest.
After the band got together in December 1997 they released their first album Greatest Hits, Vol. 3. Each band member possesses the knowledge and passion for music that has given them a platform for success.
To build on their popularity, the band began touring around the country to different venues unleashing their artistic and unique style of music. They released a live recording in 1999, entitled Songs For Older Women. During shows throughout the Midwest, the band shared the stage with musical talents, such as Topaz, Bela Fleck and Sugar Blue.
Umphrey’s McGee released its third album One Fat Sucka on New Year’s Eve 2000. The band went on to release a variety of other live performance albums, as well as studio albums, such as Safety in Numbers in 2006. This album was a chart-topping record, landing on The Billboard 200 and the Top Independent Albums.
More recent albums have proven to be chart toppers, such as 2009’s Mantis landing on The Top Independent Albums, The Billboard 200 and Top Internet Albums as well as 2011’s Death By Stereo, which landed on the Top Independent Albums, Top Rock Albums and The Billboard 200.
