Capri broke into the world as a DJ at a very young age and found success after signing with Warner Bros., where he produced tracks for big names, such as Quincy Jones. Saturday, December 31, 2011 New Years Eve Celebration with Tyga and Bobby V. 10:30 p.m. Ring in the New Year with performances by internationally-known recording artists, Tyga and Bobby V. Tyga, a Compton native, got his start with help from his cousin Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes. After signing with Bad Squad Label, Tyga appeared on a remix of Fall Out Boy’s single “Arm’s Race” alongside Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco and other well-known artists. He was launched to fame when he performed the song at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards. Tyga recently released the album Careless World featuring the help of Game, Snoop Dogg and Drake. Tyga will be joined by R&B artist Bobby V. Bobby V joined with Organized Noize Productions team at the young age of 16 to make his passion for music a career. After one of his demos landed in the hands of Ludacris, Bobby V became the first R&B artist to be a part of the Disturbing Tha Peace family. After topping multiple charts with the hit single “Slow Down” in 2005, he released Special Occasion, which turned out to be another success. Thursday, January 5, 2011 Shirley King featuring Kali Nolen 10:30 p.m. Shirley King and Kali Nolen will bring their soulful sound to Crown Theater and Nightclub for one night only. Shirley King’s chart topping voice and family tree have earned her the title of “The Daughter of the Blues.” King, who is the daughter of blues legend B.B. King, has been on stage since she met her musical idol Etta James at the early age of thirteen. By 1990, she was a regular performer at Kingston Mines, and just two years later released her first album. Today, the singer mixes traditional blues with funky R&B and smooth soul to fill venues night after night. Kali Nolen is a Rock ‘n’ roll, blues singer from Nashville. She bumped into King backstage at a B.B. King concert and since then the duo have been writing and performing together. Nolen’s career kicked off after joining B.B. King on the road. She soon returned to Nashville to pursue her career as a singer and television personality and is currently working to is launch her acting and singing career. Tuesday, January 12, 2011 Candido Fabre’ y su Banda 9 p.m. Doors Candido Fabre is a Cuban musician, song writer and singer, famous for his art of improvisation. He formed his band in 1992 and is known for being able to create a SON from any given situation or expression. Candido y su Banda has been in demand in Europe for more than four years and was one of the first Cuban bands to perform at major venues. During the band’s three European tours, they have played more than 80 concerts in Britain, France, Holland, Belgium, Austria, Germany, Portugal, Switzerland, Ireland and Spain.
