One thing I love to attend is Fashion Shows! We were invited to JIMICTO Fashion, Art & Music Festival. We did have VIP tickets and were invited to the press preview to interview the designers, artists and performers prior the show. We were warmly greeted by Jimi, BRAINtrust Marketing + Communications and the Platinum Hotel and Spa!
We previewed JIMICTO Fashion before the show. He is a talented innovative designer and we can see why he won the Best Las Vegas Designer Award! We had front row seats to the show. Young talent joined together with Jimi Urquiaga, Las Vegas’ Best New Fashion Designer, for the 2011 JIMICTO Fashion, Art & Music Festival hosted by the Platinum Hotel and Spa, on September 24, 2011.
Jimi Urquiaga debuted the JIMICTO Fall Collection at the festival. The JIMICTO Fashion, Art & Music Festival wa also an opportunity for young designers, dance groups, photographers, videographers and other aspiring artists to showcase their work and talent to the Las Vegas community.
Event goers were able to experience a full runway fashion show, live music and dance performances, complete with poolside Strip views at the Platinum Hotel and Spa. In addition to local fashion designer Jimi Urquiaga, this season’s festival will included Make Shift Apparel, and California brand Invizible Box. Displayed artists include Dylan Prorok, Molly Ingstad, Mark Mellon, Siboney Rosales, and photographer Carlos Quiroz just to name a few. Live performances include DJ Kid Scott, Sarah Boyer, and Lipstick Killas. Las Vegas’ John Moug of 98.5 KLUC will emcee the event.
About Jimi Urquiaga
Jimi Giovanni Urquiaga is a 20-year-old Cuban American and burgeoning fashion designer. He aspires to become a household name in fashion, and his signature technique of pushing the envelope is sure to land him in the big leagues sooner rather than later. A native to Las Vegas, Jimi has been raised in the heart of all that is edgy, chic, and modern. His first endeavor in the world of design took place at the age of 16, when he started making tote bags for friends. After discovering his talent in the area, he put together a MySpace page for his creations and gained tens of thousands of admirers and friends to the page. As his popularity within the Las Vegas underground fashion scene grew, Jimi took a chance by developing a line of graphic tees, tribal T-shirts, floral skirts, and more. After receiving roaring success and rave reviews from his first few showcases at Las Vegas High School, he expanded his social network outward to fellow undiscovered photographers, musicians, and the like to put together multiple art festivals that generated buzz and publicity among the Vegas youth.
