This band from Southern California broke into the music scene when their single “Sell Out” hit it big in 1997 and became a MTV favorite as well as making it into the top 100. Before they went mainstream, they were an underground band that released its debut album in 1995. They eventually signed with Mojo Records and released their first professionally produced album in 1996. The band went on to continue making hits and in 2001 they signed under Jive Records. After releasing some new material and making a name for itself, the group ended up covering songs by legendary bands like Poison and the Eagles. Reel Big Fish can still be found touring and performing about 250 shows a year while playing to its loyal fans. On Friday, September 9, the alternative rock band Marcy Playground will show off its music to the crowds at Sway Pool & Lounge. This group of Midwest boys who met in New York City got its big break when the guys signed with Capitol Records and released their debut album in 1997. The band continued to release albums, included its most recent Leaving Wonderland…In A Fit Of Rage in 2009. With numerous albums under their belt and having made a name for themselves, these guys are one group that is a must see.
