Album Review
Since I’m the audiophile of The Las Vegas Girls, Judy asked me to review Immersion by the UK/Aussie band Pendulum. I was a bit skeptical since I’m a die hard metal head but agreed anyway. And when I found out that Pendulum collaborated with one of my favorite metal band In Flames on the track Self vs Self I knew it had to be good. Self vs Self is my favorite track.
The galloping guitar intro hooked me and took me on a journey fusing metal with numerous other genres. Incredible!
My other favorite tracks are Comprachicos, The Island pt I & II, Watercolour and Witchcraft.
I would describe Pendulum as innovative and diverse encompassing a broad spectrum of musical genres.
I enjoyed the techno/pop/rock/dance/progressive/psychedelic/ trance/industrial and hope you do too.
Most songs have a slow intro building into a high energy genre mix with lots of tempo changes and special affects. A few of the songs are instrumental only but the rest have clean and polished vocals. The keyboard/synth leads a drum procession of various affects.
Overall this is a very fun collection of music that I think will appeal to a lot of listeners. Give it a try and tell me what you think.
